 headaches

got a headache last night. i wasn't sure whether to take ibuprofen or not, as it was near the time when i take my daily aspirin. so i didn't. take ibuprofen, that is. i just took my one aspirin and went to bed.

the headache woke me up early this morning. the pain in my head was ten times worse than the night before. i stumbled to the bathroom, choked down 4 ibuprofen, and got back into bed. i found a wonderful pressure point in the center of my forehead, but my arm started falling asleep from pushing so hard.

the headache lasted about 3 hours. i finally had the sense to make some coffee; the caffeine seemed to really help. i also had some dark chocolate for good measure.

feeling fine now, but kind of shaky... perhaps from all the coffee.

jeez. gonna try to get through divaville without my head exploding.

it sounds like you need to really explore the migrane angle with your doctor.

A few years ago, I had a headache that lasted for weeks. I would go to bed with a headache, wake up in the middle of the night with the headache, go to work with the headache, etc. I finally went to a neurologist who before prescribing me any meds, he told me to go to Wellspring and get HIGH POTENCY VITAMIN B COMPLEX. He told me to take it for two weeks and come back in. The vitamin worked so well that I cancelled my appointment. If I was stranded on a desert island and I could only bring one thing with me, it would be High Potency Vitamin B Complex. But your headaches might be different than mine. I hope you feel better. I caught part of Divaville this afternoon and it sounded great!!!!

But now you can't go to Wellspring!!! What to do?!?! :-)

Oh man, I know about that pressure point (The one right above where the nose joins the head, right?)

You might try this: plop a heavy pillow on top of your forearm while you're lying on your back with your fingers on your pressure point.

I've been wondering how to make a special pillow and/or stretchy band that would allow gravity and/or lycra to take care of the pressure part, leaving your hands free for relaxing.

I am so not a doctor (nor do I play one on tv) but it really sounds like you have been experiencing a big old cluster of migraines. And I'm sorry, because they suck. I have been headachy on and off in my life, and really have only had a few true migraines.* I know there is medication you can take to ward off the worst pain, but you do have to take it as soon as you feel the first signs of a headache.

*during the first, my vision narrowed to a circle, my head felt like it was going to explode, and I passed out in my closet. fun times.

I am SO worried about you and your head.......I hope that they decide what to do to give you some relief.

Lucky me, I got to see you and Ray tonight!

It was glad to see you all smiles (at least when I was looking). I hope that you get to the bottom of things very soon.
