Now see. That wasn't so hard, was it? I like the curtains a lot. I can see that you are a form AND function kind of gal.
Many soaps, many sponges (surface and dish I suppose).
Is that aloe?
I have killed all the houseplants --

yes, that's a giant bottle of aloe that ray has helpfully labelled "FOR BURNS." 2 sponges (one of them is a "magic eraser", which miraculously removes those ugly black marks that seem to constantly appear on our porcelain sink). oh, then there's the green scrubber thing in the left sink. i forgot about it. i rarely use it.

as for the soaps, i prefer the anti-bacterial squirt soap, and ray prefers to use regular bar soap (jergens, i think) followed by a squirt of disinfectant gel (which is sitting on the counter just out of the photo).

there's a tupperware lid sitting on the widow ledge that ray uses as a "safe haven" for glasses and silverware. whatever is placed on the lid is actively in-use and shouldn't go into the dishwasher.

my orchid (the middle of the three plants) hasn't bloomed for two years. it needs help, but my favorite orchid greenhouse has closed. there's a pink postcard on the far right of the window ledge that tells me about a new orchid babysitting service, but i can't afford it. the jade plant on the left has been with me for 10 years or so. the spider plant clearly needs to be repotted. maybe i'll do that this weekend.

I cannot believe that people are still posting comments to your bra entry. Do you pretend to be a bra saleswoman? No.

Nice sink, by the way.

I love the curtain fabric. Did you make them?

Posted by: Dallas at March 20, 2005 10:26 AM

i did make them, but they're nothing fancy. just a couple of hems and a pocket for the rod.

i was intially scared that the fabric would be too "loud", but once i got it up i really loved it.

actually christa the left sink is empty. the green scrub pad is in the right sink.

to the left of the left sink is a blue vinyl vase, temporarily considered for the roses and not yet put back. gift from joe vilas. i think we're too scared of cats knocking it over when it's full of water.

the basket on the left of the shelf has a coffee scoop, and some bag closers including the good kind, real wooden spring-loaded clothespins.

the vegetable scrubber between the antibacterial soap and the roses, is cutely made to look like a little potato.

both visible "drawer" handles are fake. we're living a lie.

Actually, I like your sink a lot better. It looks cozier and has more personality. In fact, with the gross cruddy apartment sink I've got, I'd KILL for a sink like that!!! :)
