 good samaritan

regardless of law or urban legend, i love flashing my headlights at oncoming cars to warn them of a speed trap ahead. i get a great deal of satisfaction when i look in my rear view mirror and see those cars' brake lights and know they're slowing down to avoid a ticket.

I love doing that too. It makes me feel like such an outlaw.

Dude, I always thought you flashed your headlights at someone to let them know their own headlights were off.
Or to invite them to kill you, of course.

If an oncoming car has its lights *off*, I turn mine *off* briefly. I flash my brights at oncoming cars if they have their brights on, but lots of drivers seem stupid or mean and leave their brights on all the time. Or maybe their lights are too bright or point too high to start with.

I got my first ticket last weekend -- 15-501 North coming into Chapel Hill in a 45 mph zone.

there seems to be a new trend in headlight technology: extra, super-bright light with a bluish tint. i always flash at those people, it's so annoying.

i do a lot of flashing of my lights, now that i think of it. because my car is so low to the ground, almost everyone's lights look too bright to me... it's like they're always aimed right at my rearview mirror. bastards.
